ignition switch

Back when the world was still on fire, cars had no ABS sensores. This meant that drivers had to crank the car by hand to start the engine. It was a difficult job, and it was labor intensive. Fortunately for us today, cars now have ignition switches to help easier and fast start the vehicle. Let’s explore further about the role of ignition switches and their significance in our cars.

An ignition switch is a key component in the vehicle that enables the car to start. Insert a key into the ignition switch and you turn the key generating electricity to the starter motor. The starter motor is the component that actually gets the engine running. But that’s not all! It also sends power to other systems in the car, such as headlights, taillights, and the radio, that not only makes driving safer but also makes driving more enjoyable.

How to Replace an Ignition Switch

Once you find the ignition switch, you can remove it and install a new ignition switch. When you have the new switch installed, replace the steering column cover and reattach the battery. Make sure that you follow the issued correctly, thus preventing you from damaging any lick of your car in that process.
